Helping traffic flow on Boyson Road Off-Ramp
The Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced it will begin a new project to help traffic flow in Hiawatha.
Beginning this summer, the IDOT let the widening project for the northbound Boyson Road off-ramp on July 18th, to allow for two lanes, which will allow for better traffic flow to east and west destinations, especially during heavy traffic periods of morning and afternoon commute. The work is anticipated to begin this summer and finish in the fall.
The Hiawatha City Council approved their plans to help control traffic challenges in the Boyson/Center Point Rd./I-380 area, by upgrading their traffic signal equipment. Rathje Construction was awarded the contract to widen the roadway and reconfigure the traffic lanes for two designated westbound lanes at a total cost of $150,000. Work will begin in August.
